The Superstore problem
Verdansk has been back for over a year now and my squad still autodrops Superstore every single match. We hot-drop, we win or die in ninety seconds, and we queue again. After enough of those nights I noticed I had not actually rotated through half the map this season. This picker is the kick I needed to stop pattern-locking on the same POI and start playing the rest of the game.
Maps in rotation right now
- Verdansk. The classic and the 2025 relaunch. Big map energy, long rotations, vehicles matter. My personal favorite for ranked.
- Urzikstan. The post-Verdansk big map. Tighter than Verdansk, more verticality in city POIs.
- Rebirth Island. Small map, fast respawns, gun-fight gym. The map I roll when I want kill volume.
- Fortune's Keep. Resurgence small-map. POIs are dense and cluttered. Great for shotgun and SMG practice.
Drop rules my squad uses
One roll per match, no rerolls. If the picker says Stadium, we land Stadium. The whole point is breaking the pattern, so allowing rerolls defeats the exercise.
If we wipe in under two minutes, the next roll is on a different map. Switches the squad's mental state and resets the bad-luck spiral.
Roll once before warmup, once before ranked. Keeps the squad practicing rotations across the map before stakes go up.
Under the hood
The roster is hand-maintained per map: 20 Verdansk POIs, 15 in Urzikstan, 10 each on Rebirth Island and Fortune's Keep, 55 entries total. Each roll scans your session counters, keeps only the POIs in the active pool with the fewest picks, and draws one of those at random, so a location cannot repeat until the rest of the pool catches up. The reel animation is cosmetic; the winner is decided before it spins. Counters are written to localStorage by script on your device and nothing about your session is transmitted anywhere.
A sample Rebirth session
Filter to Rebirth Island on a fresh session and roll. All ten POIs start at zero, so each has a 1-in-10 shot; say Bioweapons Labs wins and ticks to 1. The next roll draws from the nine spots still at zero, maybe Prison Block. By roll ten every POI has landed exactly once, and roll eleven starts the cycle over.
Quirks worth knowing
All Maps mode treats the 55 POIs as one pool, so Verdansk's 20 entries absorb roughly twice the rolls of Rebirth's 10. Counters are per browser: squadmates rolling on their own phones get independent sequences, so nominate one roller for a shared result. Incognito windows forget the session once closed.
Patch updates
Activision shuffles POIs every couple of seasons. When that happens, I update the roster within the week of the patch dropping. If you see a renamed or removed POI on the picker that should not be there, send me an email and it gets fixed the same evening.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the same POI hit twice in a row?
Not while you stay on one filter. A repeat only becomes possible after every other location in that pool matches its pick count, or after a reset.
Do my counters survive closing the tab?
Yes, they persist in localStorage under bqt-warzone-drops-v1 until you press Reset session or clear site data.
Is Undo a sneaky reroll?
No. Undo subtracts the last result from the counters and returns the reel to idle; it never rolls a replacement.
