Breaking the AK/M4 autobuy
If you are decent at CS2, you have a buy script burned into your hands: AK or M4 every full round, Deagle on the eco, SG/AUG when you are saving up for a force, AWP if you are the AWPer. This picker is for the practice nights when you want to remember that the SMGs exist, that the Negev has a learning curve, and that the Five-Seven is genuinely better than the P250 against armor.
How the categories map
- Pistol covers everything you can take into a pistol round, plus the force-buy heavies (Deagle, Tec-9, CZ).
- SMG is your half-buy comfort zone. MP5, MP7, MP9, MAC-10, UMP, P90, PP-Bizon. The pace-runner category.
- Rifle includes the full-buy meta (AK, M4A1-S/A4, AUG, SG 553) and the awkward ones (FAMAS, Galil, SSG holdovers).
- Sniper is AWP, Scout, and the auto-snipers. Practice these on retake servers, not in your matchmaking placements.
- Heavy is shotguns and the M249/Negev. Treat these as a fun-night category, not a ranked tool.
Practice modes I actually use this for
Aim Botz with rotation. Open Aim Botz, roll a category every round of 50 kills, and switch weapons. Forces you to relearn first-shot accuracy across spray patterns instead of grooving one rifle.
Eco-round drills. Roll Pistol only. Practice the Deagle one-tap and the Tec-9 run-and-gun. You will get more value out of CS2 eco rounds in a week than from a month of full-buy ranked.
Casual house rules. Roll once per round. Whatever lands is what every player on your team has to buy. Surprisingly fun, surprisingly competitive when both teams play it.
Fairness, not pure random
If you roll an honest 30-sided die you will see the SSG 08 three times in a row sometimes. The fair-pick algorithm reduces the weight of a weapon for a few rolls after it shows up, so the distribution looks closer to a shuffled deck. Reset the session with C when you want a fresh shuffle. Counters survive page reloads via localStorage.
Keeping the list current
Valve adds or removes weapons rarely, but operations sometimes add limited-time pickups. I update the roster when a weapon stays in the standard buy menu past one major patch. If something is off, email me.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which weapons can the roller land on?
All 34 entries in the standard buy menu: 10 pistols (USP-S through the Dual Berettas, R8 Revolver included), 7 SMGs, 7 rifles, 4 snipers, and 6 heavy weapons. The Zeus x27 is deliberately left out.
Can the same weapon come up twice in a row?
Not while the filter has more than one weapon in it. Every roll draws from the weapons with the fewest picks this session, so a repeat only becomes possible once the rest of the pool has caught up.
Does Undo fix the session stats too?
Yes. Undo subtracts one from that weapon's counter and saves the corrected tally; only the most recent roll can be taken back.
Do my rolls get reported anywhere?
No. The reel animation, the fair-pick math, and the tally are page scripts running on your machine, and the only data stored is the pick counter kept in your own browser's localStorage.
