Why I keep this picker bookmarked
Rock and Stone, miners. I have hundreds of hours in Deep Rock Galactic and the truth is that I default to the same three loadouts every Haz 5 run. CRSPR Flamethrower on Driller. PGL on Engineer. Auto-Cannon on Gunner. I built this randomizer specifically so that I and my friend group would actually use the weapons we have unlocked but never touch, like the Wave Cooker or the Coil Gun. It is the dwarf equivalent of meal prep: take the choice off the table so you actually try the spinach.
How a roll works in practice
- Pick a class pill or leave on All Classes.
- Click Roll Loadout, or press Space or R.
- Watch the reel spin and lock on a primary + secondary combo.
- Click Undo (or press U) if you fat-fingered or want a different combo.
- Click Reset session (or press C) at the start of a new play session.
Key Features
- Fair-pick algorithm. Biases toward lowest-count combos.
- Class filter. Filter by Driller, Engineer, Gunner, or Scout.
- Full weapon pool. All primary x secondary combos per class.
- Keyboard shortcuts. Space, R, U, C.
- Counters persist. localStorage saves counts.
- Nothing phones home. Every roll is computed by the JavaScript on this page, on your own machine, and your pick history stays in local storage rather than going to a server.
What the pool contains and how a winner is chosen
The roster comes straight from the weapon arrays in this page's source: three primaries and three secondaries per dwarf, crossed into nine pairings per class, 36 total. Driller crosses the CRSPR Flamethrower, Cryo Cannon, and Sludge Pump with the Subata 120, Experimental Plasma Charger, and Colette Wave Cooker. Engineer gets the Warthog, Stubby, and LOK-1 against the PGL, Breach Cutter, and Shard Diffractor; Gunner gets the Lead Storm, Thunderhead, and Hurricane against the Bulldog, BRT7, and Coil Gun; Scout gets the GK2, M1000, and DRAK-25 against the Boltshotgun, Zhukov NUK17, and Boltshark X-80.
Each pairing carries a counter saved under the local storage key bqt-drg-picks-v1. A roll scans the active pool, finds the lowest counter value present, and draws at random only from pairings sitting at that value, so the spread stays even across an evening of mining.
A worked example
Open a fresh session and tap the Gunner pill: all nine Gunner pairings sit at zero, so the first draw is a clean one-in-nine. Suppose the reel lands on Hurricane Rocket System / BRT7 Burst Fire; that counter moves to 1, and the next eight Gunner rolls can only come from the eight pairings still at zero. Press U after a result you cannot stomach and its counter drops back, re-entering the eligible tier immediately.
Limitations worth knowing
Only the primary and secondary slots are rolled; grenades, traversal tools, and overclocks stay your call, since overclock unlocks differ wildly between accounts. The arrays are a snapshot, so a future Ghost Ship weapon will not appear until the lists are refreshed. Counters live per browser per device, and Undo reaches back exactly one roll.
FAQ
Why does it refuse to repeat a combo I just got?
The draw is restricted to the least-rolled pairings, and a fresh win sits one count above the rest until the class catches up.
Can it roll overclocks too?
No. Most players own only a fraction of them, and rolling one you lack would be a dead result.
What wipes my session counts?
Reset session, the C key, or clearing this site's storage. Reloading the page leaves them intact.
